Trip to Centre Parcs #2

Centre Parcs has a plethora of activities and events going on at any given point in time. Unfortunately this narrows significantly when you’re under the age of 6 thus the choice of things for Jacob to do narrowed right down to under a 1/2 dozen. Nevertheless we never felt we were limited by this; indeed the balance was just about right with one activity per day every morning and the afternoon to spend in the pool building the time went quickly enough.

Of the activities Jacob chose, he enjoyed fencing the most. Above are several pictures from his fencing class, from the beginning learning the correct stance and courtesy to practicing with the other children. As you can see he was quite the smallest in the group but more than made up for it with spirit.

The second day he had a “gymnastics” class that was mostly a play-time with big, soft block-shapes. He formed these into a large, intricate sculpture for display which, inevitably, was knocked over by a larger member of a more aggressive and inconsiderate sector of society. Jacob protested this then stoically re-built it only to have it knocked over again. At this point Daddy warned off the little oik with all the implication would not go well with him should he do so again.
