My Bobby Bear Diary
Friday 6th March
By: Bobby Bear (as translated by Jacob)
After a long wait it was finally Jacob’s turn to have me to stay. I am really pleased that I finally get to spend some time with him and meet his family. Jacob said that, for months, every Friday morning on the way to school he and his Mum would wonder if it was going to be his turn and at last his wait is over.
Jacob’s Dad collected us from school and we went back to his house. After a snack he showed me around his house and then we watched some TV. At 6pm his Mum and brother came home, they had been at work and nursery respectively. His baby brother’s name is Teddy and he’s very funny.
We had our dinner, then it was bath time. Jacob read to his Mum, then for his story we looked at my diary and all my adventures with the rest of the class and teachers so far.
Saturday 7th March
After a good night’s sleep we got up and played for a bit. For breakfast Jacob’s Mum made us some pancakes which we had with maple syrup, they were really yummy! Today Jacob went to a Beavers Badge Day to earn his Experiment badge and we had to be at a school in Tulse Hill by 11am. Jacob got changed into his Beaver’s uniform and then we all got into the car. I wasn’t able to stay with him just in case I got lost so I said goodbye to him and went home with his Mum, Dad and baby brother.
While Jacob was gone I played with Teddy and he gave me lots of hugs. I also kept watch over him while he slept in his cot after lunch.
At 2.30pm Jacob’s Dad put me in the car and we went to collect Jacob. On the previous page is a picture of me with Jacob, Akela and Skip. On the left is me with Jacob and Matthew. It was great to see Matthew again.
I was just the right size to fit in Teddy’s car seat so I could stay safe on our way home. Jacob’s daddy explained to us the need to be safe whilst riding in a car and how seatbelts keep us safe so I’ll always be sure to wear one. I’m glad Jacob and his family cared for me so well!
When we got back to the house Jacob showed his Mum his new badge. It has to be sewn on the left arm of Jacob’s uniform and it is the second one that he has earned.

For the rest of the afternoon Jacob and I played some more. Later on I watched In The Night Garden with Teddy which is currently his favourite show.
After such a busy day we were really hungry so we gobbled up all our dinner.
Then it was bath time. Jacob and Teddy like having a bath together, here is a picture of them with me.
We were really tired by bed time, below is a picture of us in Jacob’s bed with his bear Coconut. Jacob has a really cool cabin bed which is quite high up but fortunately I’m not afraid of heights.
Sunday 8th March
Everyone was really tired so we had a lie in until 8.30am. After breakfast we went to church and I went into Sunday School with Jacob. Afterwards we went to play at the park with Solomon. I enjoyed the fresh air and it was a lovely sunny day although quite cold.
After lunch we played some more with Jacob’s toys, then it was time for dinner, bath and bed. I really enjoyed spending the weekend with Jacob and because he and his Mum were ill on Monday I got to spend an extra day in their house. I just hope they haven’t given me their germs!!
